Dolled-Up Director's Chair

The Laundry List of Details...

Add a touch of fun to your decor! This tall vintage director's chair has been cheerfully restyled to evoke a picnic in the park. It features a beautiful solid walnut folding frame (by Butler Furniture Industries, Carrollton, Kentucky, circa 1970) and vintage Westgate crewelwork upholstery fabric (wool on cotton linen, also circa 1970), combined with a unique red and white cotton plaid embellished with tiny eyelash tassels. I have covered the tufting buttons with various portions the remaining crewelwork fabric - green with hints of blue for the seat buttons, and pink for the buttons the outside seat back. The buttons on the inside seat back have been pattern matched to the fabric (see detailed photos).

The wood grain is just beautiful. The frame is of superior quality and is in excellent condition with one minor flaw; the folding bracket on the front is missing the stops that holds the bracket perfectly straight when the chair is fully open. If you look closely at the first photo, you will notice a slight dip in that bracket as it overextends just a bit. Please note that this does not affect the posture or stability of the chair, it is simply my policy to be completely forthright about even minor flaws. Additional photos of all aspects of the chair are available upon request.

I envision this happy chair at home by a breakfast bar in a cheery kitchen or cozied up to an easel in a sunny artist's nook.
