The Laundry List of Details...
Add a touch of fun to your decor! This tall vintage director's chair has been cheerfully restyled to evoke a picnic in the park. It features a beautiful solid walnut folding frame (by Butler Furniture Industries, Carrollton, Kentucky, circa 1970) and vintage Westgate crewelwork upholstery fabric (wool on cotton linen, also circa 1970), combined with a unique red and white cotton plaid embellished with tiny eyelash tassels. I have covered the buttons with various portions the remaining crewelwork fabric - green with hints of blue for the seat buttons, and pink for the buttons the outside seat back. The buttons on the inside seat back have been pattern matched to the fabric (see detailed photos).
The frame is of superior craftsmanship and has been freshly polished; the wood grain is just beautiful! The seat and back may be disassembled for folding. The seat panel slides into the frame by dowel and groove, the seat back simply slips over the posts. The seat cushion is padded with 1.5 " high resiliency foam. The frame is in excellent condition. When I first posted this chair, it had one minor flaw; the folding hinge on the front was missing the stops that held it straight when the chair was fully open. I have since replaced both the front hinge and the back hinge for added strength and durability. Replacing the hardware required repositioning of the fasteners on the right hand side. The previous holes have been filled and stained to match the frame. Additional photos of all aspects of the chair are available upon request.
I envision this happy chair at home by a breakfast bar in a cheery kitchen or cozied up to an easel in a sunny artist's nook.
