60s swank! This one of a kind chair is like...Dan and Dorothy Draper fly PanAm to Los Angeles and have cocktails in the swank hotel bar... I combined vintage and modern textiles to construct this one-of-a kind cocktail/side chair. The metal frame is vintage, as are the inside and outside panels on the chair back. The seat back fabric is a drop dead fabulous remnant from the 1960s featuring architectural and landscape images that evoke mid-century California with a hint of chinoiserie. Colors include black, coral (Pantone color of the year), taupe and gray. Gold threads are woven in close lines horizontally across the pattern. The seat and back are padded with new high density foam. The seat and piping are covered in Revolution Performance Fabrics twill in Onyx and Metal Gray, colors that compliment the vintage remnant perfectly. The twill is reminiscent of vintage business suit fabric, while the coral, taupe and gold print brings to mind the high style feminine aesthetic of mid-century socialites. The seat of the chair is tufted with buttons hand made from coral portions of the vintage fabric, a nice detail that offsets the seat back and provides a pop of color against the onyx twill. Make a statement! No one else has chair like this one.
