The Laundry List of Details...
There's nothing wrong with being a little extra! A one-of-a-kind statement piece for the parlor or boudoir, this antique Eastlake slipper chair (circa 1890) has been dramatically restyled featuring a stunning embroidered Fabricut print and rich red textured velvet trimmed in gold braid and embellished with vintage gilded floral cut buttons. A quartet of cheetahs lounge on the outside back framed by gorgeous bronze toned horsehair millenary lace from the late 1800's. This chair has been fully reupholstered with tremendous attention to detail, right down to the pretty dust cover on the bottom (new webbing, springs and padding - high resiliency, high density foam layered with muslin and Dacron). The lustrous dark walnut frame features gorgeous ornamentation including spoon carved details and beautiful burl and bears only minor wear consistent with an antique piece in very good condition. One porcelain caster has been replaced, the other three are original. One of the ornaments on the top rail has been replaced with piece similar, but not identical, to the one on the opposite side; a quirk that adds to the truly unique charm of this piece (see photos). The frame has been polished to a deep glowing sheen. Truly beautiful with amazing character. Additional photos are available upon request.
